  4. Fill in the Application Form (Part A):

    • Basic Details: You will need to fill in details like your business name, PAN, email address, mobile number, and the state in which your business is located.
    • Verification: After filling in the details, an OTP will be sent to your mobile number and email address for verification.
  5. Submit Documents and Fill Part B of the Application: After the verification process, you’ll be directed to the next part of the application, where you’ll have to provide more detailed information, including:

    • Business Type: Sole Proprietorship, Partnership, Private Limited Company, etc.
    • Nature of Business Activities: Whether you are a manufacturer, wholesaler, service provider, etc.
    • Additional Documents: Depending on the type of business, you might need to upload extra documents for verification, such as partnership deeds or certificates of incorporation.
  6. GST Application Reference Number (ARN): Once you submit the form, the system will generate an ARN (Application Reference Number). This number allows you to track your application status.

  7. GST Application Processing: The GST department will process your application. They may request additional documents or clarifications if necessary. If everything is in order, the GST department will approve your application.

  8. Issuance of GSTIN: Upon successful verification, the GST department will issue your GSTIN (Goods and Services Tax Identification Number), which will be sent to your registered email address. This number should be quoted on all invoices, and it’s important to maintain the registration regularly to stay compliant.

Post-Registration Requirements:

  • Filing Returns: Once you have your GST number, you need to file GST returns periodically (monthly, quarterly, or annually depending on your turnover and type of business). Failing to file returns can result in penalties.
